Driving, Tickets, and Impaired Driving

- There are various charges associated with alcohol or drug-impaired driving, including DUI, DWI, and OUIL.
- The penalties for impaired driving can be severe, and may include jail, loss or suspension of your license, fines, new charges for your annual vehicle registration, and increased rates for (or loss of), your car insurance.
- If you are arrested it may be possible to obtain release with cash bond, but you will not be released until your are no longer showing any alcohol or drug impairment.
- If you are arrested, your person and vehicle may be subject to search. Even if not arrested, the officer may check for weapons, and confiscate contraband items in plain view.
